I had been working fairly steadily on my follow up album to Larva, when one of the tracks really kicked my ass. Really just burned me the hell out. So I decided: "what if I write some songs and then just record them as fast as I can? Then I'd have a thing that's done, and it would be done, and then it would be done." And it is!

A couple of these songs were ideas I had earlier this year, but most of them were sprung from recent anxieties. I didn't do too many takes or too much editing on them. It was a time to experiment and just get it out there. So I hope it can at least pique your interest on that level. It gives me a lot of anxiety to listen to it even though a lot of the songs are pretty mellow (due to certain vulnerabilities I don't usually express), but I hope it has precisely the opposite effect on you.
