I Won Again 03:33
I won again today Once again I kept the bugs at bay I kicked their insect ass Step by step I'm stomping down the grass I won again they say Everyone just watch the mantis pray Your insect god is gone Took his legs and left to creepeth on I won again I think Earlier I found one in my drink I'll take the free protein But now I feel like I've been kind of mean

I've scaled it up just for you Slithered outta my skin to look brand new So just sit down there In your puffy chair And I'll tell a tall tale or two About climbing trees and shuffling dirt And how I got my lounge act just like Kurt And Dave and Krist And, well, you get the jist You can just tune me out I won't be too hurt Be gone, bygone era And finish your duck a l'orange We're panned hard left and hard to the right You know that we'll be here every night We'll entertain ya If we gotta But we've no great love allotted Sir no sir you lizard of the lounge The camera tilts down and changes subject To me Wearing a jacket like upholstery I've got my finger guns unholstered And this is a stick-up, miss Oh, uh, or not While I've got your attention, I'd like to make a case for myself My man up there on his high horse and even higher sense of self importance failed to mention that I always have my duck and oranges locally sourced I can't speak for the other ingredients But I feel comfortable saying that I'm basically a hero If that's the kind of dishonesty you're willing to sleep with Then who am I to judge? My blood's a little chilly And I wanted to warm up before nightfall Can you blame me for tryin? We're just lizards after all Be gone, bygone era Go jump in the Puget Sound We know it's a wig and not your hair You're gonna have to do a little bit better than that you lizard of the lounge

There's ants in my house and they live in my room They're in my keyboard and they eat all my food I demanded their rent and they bit off my head And they recorded this song just to play it off like I'm not dead, for real I'm alive and eating meals I still do human stuff Like singing songs and hating bugs There's ants in my brain and I like it a lot They're in my neurons and they make every thought I will open my foods and put them onto the floor My queen's satisfaction's all I want anymore I'm not dead, for real I'm alive and eating meals I still do human stuff Like singing songs and loving bugs Life's so much easier Just get the food and feed her All I do is for the swarm Just another human norm It's an elegant solution I'm not dead, for real I'm alive and eating meals I still do human stuff Like singing songs and loving bugs Life's so much easier Just get the food and feed her All I do is for the swarm Just another human norm

I waited on The kind of one that I'd become And all along They long for what has come and gone Why ever say Our promised land was yesterday Cause it's erased A better thing takes its place This is the moment I don't miss my smaller mind All I have to do Is dream bigger And better Better days Take their place The past can stay Tomorrow can wait Been waiting on This kind of mindset all along Two decades gone I'm moving on to where I belong This is the moment I don't miss the dreams I had All I have to do Is dream bigger And better Moving up Forging on Thinking of Cosmic thoughts Layers of Electrons Slowly drawn To my thoughts

I am the son Of someone somewhere And I wanna be Somebody someday I live below The streets of Rabanastre Where we avoid The daily disaster Call me again I'm fighting vermin in the sewer Guess I'll go if it's meaning something to her But I'll be back just to kill these goddamn rats My work can wait I'm always known for being late Penelo's fine and I got other things on my mind I'm gonna live Aboard an airship As soon as I can Afford to steal one I'm gonna run Into the castle To steal a jewel That I can't keep Call me again I gotta run out of the city If I don't go then the guards are gonna get me But we'll be fast cause I killed the goddamn rats The world's to blame but I'd like to keep it safe I know I can cause I'm a hell of a leading man

If I were The last man on earth Then you might See what I'm worth And we could Go out on the surf And spend all our days on the last beach on earth If the oceans Flood over someday Then we'll climb A mountain to stay And we'll bring Some sand to the peak And move all the snow to make room for our beach And we'll surf surf surf On the last beach on earth Beach on earth Good will to men

about

Hi, James Gameboy here. I spent a little over 10 months on this and am simultaneously very proud and confused by it. Most of these songs are very stupid, but I like them. I am frequently wrestling in my mind whether or not these songs specifically were worth putting this much time into, or should I have done way more work? I don't know if I'll ever come to an official resolution, but obviously enough was done for me to say "I'm done."

I'd like to extend special thanks to:
Matt, for putting up with the wishy-ness of my washy-ness.
Spencer for doing the album art, the one piece that I am 100% confident in. He perfectly fulfilled and fully transcended the stupid request I made of him.
Nick, for being my best friend and keeping me artistically accountable.
And my parents and sisters, for birthing me privileged, getting me into music early on, always encouraging my artistic endeavors even when it turned out that I'm kind of weird.

Overall, I hope that you like it. If I'm being really optimistic, I hope it brings you joy outside the context of simply listening to it. And if I'm being completely serious, I hope you'll pay me 500 dollars for it.
